Description
This 5th grade math unit covers all things place value. Standards 5.NBT.1, 5.NBT.2, and 5.NBT.3 are covered. Your students will learn about reading and writing decimals to the thousandths place and telling the value of digits based on their place. They’ll also compare and order decimals, multiply and divide by 10’s, 100’s, 1,000’s and more, and to tell the value of numbers with exponents. They’ll learn about multiplying and dividing by powers of ten, plus writing decimals in various forms.
This is the first unit of 5th Grade Guided Math. This unit is focused on Place Value (5.NBT.1-3) (TEKS 5.2,A.B–download the preview for more information about TEKS correlation) and is a four week long unit.
5th Grade Guided Math units are recommended for small group, targeted instruction, but also can be used in a whole group format.
