Description
This 5th grade math unit covers all things multiplying whole numbers. Standard 5.NBT.5 is covered. Your students will learn about multiplying whole numbers using area models, the lattice method, and standard algorithm. Students will multiply 3 digit by 2 digit, 4 digit by 2 digit, 3 digit by 3 digit, and also solve multiplication word problems.
This is the third unit of 5th Grade Guided Math. This unit is focused on Multiplying Whole Numbers (5.NBT.5) (TEKS 5.3B–download the preview for more information about TEKS correlation) and is a two week long unit.
**Decimal Multiplication is covered in Unit 11.**
5th Grade Guided Math units are recommended for small group, targeted instruction, but also can be used in a whole group format.
There are two separate PDF’s included. One with CC Standards and one with TEKS standards.
