Description
This 4th grade math unit covers shapes and angles. Standards 4.G.1, 4.G.2, 4.MD.5, 4.MD.6, and 4.MD.7 are covered. Your students will learn how to identify types of angles, straight lines, and circles. They’ll also learn to identify different types of triangles and classify shapes into categories. They’ll learn to measure angles using a protractor, use subtraction to measure angles from any starting number or determine the size of a missing angle, as well as measure angles on a circle protractor.
This is the thirteenth unit of 4th Grade Guided Math. This unit is focused on shapes and angles. (4.G.1,2, 4.MD.5-7) (TEKS 4.6C,D, 4.7A-E–download the preview for more information about TEKS correlation) and is a one week long unit.
**Lines are not explicitly taught in this unit. Lines are covered in Unit 12**
4th Grade Guided Math units are recommended for small group, targeted instruction, but also can be used in a whole group format.
