Welcome to my website, Thrifty in Third Grade! I’m Cassie Smith and I’m so glad you decided to stop by. I am passionate about creating engaging curriculum for teachers in grades K-5! I believe learning can be fun AND aligned to standards!
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Although this is when my formal teaching career began, I like to say it all started in my basement growing up where I played school with my three younger siblings! They are eight, eleven, and thirteen years younger than me, so I loved teaching them! 🙂
I started creating teaching resources several years ago in order to have resources to use in my classroom to teach the new Common Core standards. Although I love teaching, I quickly realized that creating curriculum is my true passion! I love to make teachers’ lives easier and develop curriculum that their students will enjoy.
